With a giveaway worthy of the 50 years of hospitality service on the islands, West Wind Island Resort celebrated our “over the hill” birthday in style.
To commemorate West Wind Island Resort’s 50 years of successful island hospitality service, Sanibel Mayor Kevin Ruane declared an official proclamation. Presented to ownership and management of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts, West Wind Island Resort consistently ranks today as one of Southwest Florida’s top island resorts among user-generated travel review sites.
While the city of Sanibel commemorated this event, West Wind Island Resort celebrated by giving away 50 vacations in their “50 Cheers for 50 Years” giveaway. The resort gathered entries throughout the year, with a total of almost 38,000 entries for the year. Fifty entrants were selected to win 3-night vacations at this half-century-old resort on Sanibel.
Return guests celebrated West Wind Island Resort’s birthday with stories of their visits from years past — some who have been visiting every year for 10, 20 and even 30 years.
